White to light yellow crystals. It smells of chlorination. Easy to absorb moisture. Sublimate at about 430℃. Soluble in hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, anhydrous ethanol, acetone and ethyl acetate. It decomposes into bismuth oxychloride in water. Relative density (d254)4.75. Melting point is 230 ~ 232℃. The boiling point is 447℃.
