Properties: Black monoclinic crystal or crystalline powder, deliquescent, easily soluble in water and ethanol, insoluble in benzene, giving off bromine when burning to form cuprous bromide. Copper bromide solution is acidic.

Product use: used as photographic sensitizer. Used as brominating agent in organic synthesis. Copper bromide can also be used in copper vapor laser. When hydrogen bromide placed in the conduit reacts with molten copper under discharge conditions, copper bromide vapor is formed. This kind of laser can produce yellow or green light, which can be used in dermatology.
